Get Connected

We offer several ways for you to get connected and involved!

Fusion-color
Fusion (Jr & Sr High)

Fusing together what life looks like in community with other believers, growing in our relationship with Jesus, and going out into the world forming relationships with non-Christians in order to spread His love and message of salvation! This is where it all comes together and we help to demonstrate the importance of well-rounded Christianity, which is not living for Jesus in isolation.

TheBridge-color
The Bridge (K-5th Grade)

Introducing children to a personal relationship with Jesus. Helping them understand Jesus is their bridge to a right standing relationship with the Father. Without Jesus there would be no way to have a relationship with God. Like a bridge we will support them, hold them up, guide them in the right ways and if they choose to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior they will get off the bridge a new creation!

The lesson for The Bridge is made up of three parts. The Plug-In which is the introduction piece, the Power-Up which is the main lesson time, and the Catch-On which is the activity small group time that re-emphasizes what was taught in the Power-Up. These two parts correlate so it is important for the children to attend both in order to maximize the message!

Wonderland-color
Wonderland (Pre-School)

Evoking wonder in the hearts of babies and children that there is a God who loves them and is so much bigger than they can imagine. This is a time of exploration and excitement for discovering new things and creating wonder for the God of the Universe.

Sometimes we need to say less to say more! We’re hoping with repetition of a topic, children will be able to better remember the truths they learn each week.

Women’s Ministry

Women’s Ministry is more than just a meeting. There are special events each month to bring the women of our church and community together for fellowship, community service and lots of fun. Women need to connect with other women for support and encouragement and we provide regular opportunities to do just that . . . not to mention a little chocolate added in now and then! Keep watch on the FBC website for details of the monthly events. Feel free to invite a friend and prepare for a great time.

Men’s Ministry

Our men join the first Saturday of each month at 7:00 a.m. for a breakfast, fellowship and study. All men high school age and above are welcome. We utilize “33-The Series” which unfolds God’s biblical mandates for all men. This study offers a clear definition of authentic manhood with practical steps to navigate them on their lifetime journey.

Life Groups

What & Where: We have established “Life Groups” which consist of 6-14 members who meet on a regular basis on different days and times, in homes or at church. They seek to be an irresistible Christian community where a person can love and be loved, know and be known, serve and be served, celebrate and be celebrated.
Why: In  Acts 2:41-47 and throughout scripture we discover large group worship wed to small group communities. In the early church we find a group of believers whose worship was spontaneous, whose instruction was substantial, whose fellowship was genuine and whose expression was compassionate.
How: For more information on how to become a part of a Life Group contact our office at 812-663-3778.

Bible Study/Sunday School

We offer Bible Study classes on Wednesday night and Sunday School for all ages at 10:30 am each Sunday morning.  Whether you’re 4 or 104, there is a class for you!

Other Ministries

There are several other groups and ministries that meet regularly.  The Roots of the Church (ROTC) for those 55 and older meets each Tuesday morning at 8:30 am at Arby’s.  The American Baptist Women and Men’s Brotherhood both meet periodically as well.

Mission Trips

“Reaching out to others with the Love of Christ . . .” is not only a goal  at First Baptist, but  a passion. There are a variety of mission opportunities for individuals  to serve in Greensburg and the local area. Larger groups have participated in mission endeavors both near and far. These groups have helped to rebuild communities in Indiana and Kansas following devastating tornadoes. They have served in Mississippi following hurricane Katrina. We have sent teams to an Indian reservation and to Appalachia. Numerous medical teams have traveled to the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Several groups have served with our missionaries in Chile. Each summer a team shares their skills and talents  for a week at our National Conference Center in Wisconsin. Mission opportunities are available for anyone with a heart for serving.
