At First Baptist Greensburg, we offer several ways for you to get connected and involved!
Fusion (Jr. & Sr. High)
Fusion Youth Ministry meets every Sunday at 9:50 am and small groups throughout the week, as well as special events throughout the year. For more information, visit the Fusion website.
Fusing together what life looks like in community with other believers, growing in our relationship with Jesus, and going out into the world forming relationships with non-Christians in order to spread His love and message of salvation! This is where it all comes together and we help to demonstrate the importance of well-rounded Christianity, which is not living for Jesus in isolation.
The Bridge (K-5th grade)
Introducing children to a personal relationship with Jesus. Helping them understand Jesus is their bridge to a right standing relationship with the Father. Without Jesus there would be no way to have a relationship with God. Like a bridge we will support them, hold them up, guide them in the right ways and if they choose to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior they will get off the bridge a new creation!
The lesson for The Bridge is made up of three parts. The Plug-In which is the introduction piece, the Power-Up which is the main lesson time, and the Catch-On which is the activity small group time that reemphasizes what was taught in the Power-Up. These two parts correlate so it is important for the children to attend both in order to maximize the message!
Wednesdays: Plug-In and Power-Up, 6-7pm
Sundays: Catch-On, 9:50-10:50am
Wonderland (Pre-School)
Evoking wonder in the hearts of babies and children that there is a God who loves them and is so much bigger than they can imagine. This is a time of exploration and excitement for discovering new things and creating wonder for the God of the Universe.
Wonderland will cover the same topic both Sunday (9:50am - 10:50am) and Wednesday (6-7pm) of a week, but have different activities. Sometimes we need to say less to say more! We’re hoping with repetition of a topic, children will be able to better remember the truths they learn each week.
Women's Group
This group of women meets regularly for Bible study and prayer. You are invited to join them each week.
Small Groups
We encourage everyone to participate in a small group for spiritual growth and to be a part of the rich community that God intends for His church. We provide two or three 7-week long small group experiences each year. These groups are comprised of six to twelve people who meet in homes and at work. Each biblically-based study provides relevant topics and resources that inspire, educate and motivate individuals to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Research indicates approximately 11 million, or 55% of the nation’s 20 million evangelicals participate in small groups each week. People who participate in small groups find that they feel more connected to the church at large, and they develop deep friendships that could not have come about without the group environment.
Bible Study
We offer Bible Study classes for all ages at 9:45 am each Sunday morning. Whether you're 4 or 104, there is a class for you!
Electives
Electives is our variation on Sunday school at 11 am each Sunday. These 6 to 8 week studies are topically based and offer a great opportunity to grow in your faith.
Other Ministries
There are several other groups and ministries that meet regularly. The Roots of the Church (ROTC) for those 55 and older meets each Tuesday morning at 8 am at Arby’s. The American Baptist Women and Men’s Brotherhood both meet periodically as well.
Mission Trips
There are several opportunities throughout each year to get involved in short term mission projects both in country and abroad. In 2009 we sponsored teams that traveled to Chile, Dominican Republic, Wisconsin, and Tennessee. If you would like more information on getting involved with a mission team please contact the church office.
Ongoing service
Kitchen:
Those that serve in the kitchen work hard to provide a hot meal before Wednesday night activities each Wednesday night from September through April. This provides a great time of fellowship. |
